Christmas time is almost here! If you’re looking to spice up your next gathering, we have a few Christmas cocktails that you’re going to want to try. These aperitifs are guaranteed to make any festivity merry and bright.
The idea of an aperitif is basically a “before dinner drink,” which you serve to guests as they arrive and mingle. They are generally a bit drier and more bitter to prep the palate, while lower in alcohol to go easy on an empty stomach. They are meant to stimulate hunger, not suppress it with too much sugar or alcohol.
The flavors of Christmas should be warm and cozy, using spices like cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger mixed with orange and chocolate.
So let’s get started!
The Christmas Spritz
This lovely refreshing aperitif exudes Christmas. It’s fun, festive and we simply can’t get enough of it.
For each cocktail, you’ll need:
- 1/2 glass of sparkling wine – we recommend a Prosecco or Brut Rosé
- 1.2 oz Ramazzotti Aperitivo Rosato
- 1 stick of cinnamon
- A bit of orange peel
- Cinnamon powder
- A few ice cubes
To make the drink, be sure to wash the orange and get a nice spiral of peel. Toss a few ice cubes in a wine glass and then add in the orange peel and cinnamon stick before pouring in the sparkling wine and Ramazzotti. Sprinkle a bit of cinnamon powder on top and viola! A perfect Christmas Spritz.
This recipe is great because it’s super easy to make. You can whip one up in no time, making sure you’ll be able to enjoy as well. And if you find yourself with extra sparkling, just zzysh® the bottle and save it for later.
More Christmas Aperitifs
Christmas Negroni – If you’re wanting something you can prep ahead of time and make quick on the spot, Jamie Oliver’s Christmas Negroni is the perfect option. Make the infused gin at least one week ahead of time and come party time, you’ll be holly and jolly. Ingredients like anise, clove and orange will tone down the alcohol, but do be aware that these drinks will have much more of a kick than the spritzers.
Cranberry Mule – Another to prep ahead of time, this Cranberry Mule is perfect for the holidays. We love the extra touch of sugared cranberries to garnish the drink, and of course the copper mug is quite festive.
Pomegranate Rosemary Sprtizer – Back to our favorite —bubbles!— this easy spritzer not only tastes great, but looks fantastic. A sprig of rosemary with pomegranate seeds is a beautiful garnish to this Prosecco and peach schnapps Christmas concoction.
Winter Sangria – That’s right, Sangria isn’t just for summer. This Winter Sangria takes advantage of typical winter fruits mixed with some apple cider to lift your spirits and get your holidays started off right.
Of course there are all kinds of holiday drinks out there, but those are a few of our favorites.
Savor the Holidays
Just remember to have fun and savor each moment, because there truly is nothing quite like the holidays.
And when it comes to savoring, we at zzysh® are experts. Our revolutionary wine and sparkling wine preservers allow wine lovers to enjoy a glass, or two, or more whenever and wherever they wish.
Considering this possibility, fun holiday cocktails are even more appealing, because you won’t have to worry about waste. You can splurge on good ingredients and make sure that any leftover wines will maintain their color, aroma and flavor until you’re ready for another cocktail or simply another glass.
